Brown Bolt & Nut is a family business founded by Emerson C. Brown (Brownie, as he was affectionately referred to by most of his customers) and his wife, Veronica. Brownie moved out from New York in 1938 and, after working sales for a few companies, decided to try his own hand in business ownership. He began Brown Bolt and Nut by sharing a phone line and shelves at Henry's Welding.

When Brown moved the business to its current location, he and his wife Veronica partnered to build a fastener business that specialized in locating hard-to-find fasteners as quickly as possible. They incorporated the entire family into the business, often bringing home work for their four children. Not much has changed as Raymond Brown, Emerson and Veronica’s son, took over the business from his father and Raymond Emerson Brown Jr is now taking over as the third generation with assistance from one of his five sisters, Veronica “Ronee” Brown who currently acts as CPA and bookkeeper. Ray’s wife, Christina, has also been incorporated into assisting with the business as well.

Emerson and his wife Veronica established a legacy. Customer service continues to be our number one priority and we are always searching for better ways to meet the needs of our valued customers. We strive to maintain the friendly, family atmosphere Grandpa and Grandma started over 74 years ago.Today, BB&N continues to strive to maintain their commitment to the customer just as Brownie and his wife did in the company's early years.
